55.00

“Watercolours on Silk” is a painterly collection of scarves in the finest quality 100% pure silk, luxuriously soft and shimmery with a beautiful drape.

Each scarf in the collection is inspired by Impressionist watercolours, with soft flowing lines, colours and patterns and the play of light on the lustre of the silk.

“Poppies Silk Scarf” is inspired by carefree walks in summer poppy fields. The gentle brushstrokes reflect the soft reds of wild poppies and the yellows and blues of buttercups and bluebells.

A perfect blend of colours that will flatter any skin tones and add a refreshing pop of colour to any occasion – a treasure to wear or to gift.

The size is generous 180 x 45 cm to allow for a variety of lovely knots and ties.

Each scarf is hand packaged in a beautiful gift box – sent with love from my studio in Dublin.

A Must- Have Accessory for Any Wardrobe

A Silk scarf can be added with great effect to a wide range of outfits, from classic and traditional, to contemporary and trendy. The possibilities are endless.

Silk is a durable and versatile fabric that makes a statement of elegance and sophistication. It is a must-have item for any fashionable wardrobe – a very worthwhile investment.

Kind to Your Skin and Hair

Wearing a silk scarf is a luxurious experience and has many benefits. It puts your skin in contact with a heavenly soft fabric. It is a luxurious, elegant, and durable material, comfortable in all seasons, and is very kind to your skin.

Apart from the wonderful look and sumptuous feel of silk, it has properties that improve your hair and skin.

Silk is hypoallergenic

Silk is considered hypoallergenic. This means it has a natural resistance to many allergens. You will be free from sneezes, rashes, and sniffles simply by wrapping yourself in a silk scarf.

It keeps skin and hair moisturized

Silk keeps moisture close to the skin, so it helps you hold on to that much needed hydration. This can be very helpful in reversing the signs of aging. Hydrated and plumper skin means fewer wrinkles.

Silk is very kind to your skin

Silk not only absorbs less moisture but less skin oil, too – this means that it can help with acne, eczema, and skin rashes.

It is great for regulating temperature

Silk is light, breathable, and airy, which helps regulate your body temperature all year-round.

Wearing a silk scarf prevents you from sweating – this is especially good for women going through menopause.

Wrapping a long silk scarf around your neck keeps you warm on a chilly evening – making silk is the perfect winter accessory.

How to Care for your Silk Scarf

Don’t let silk scare you, because it’s easy to clean. A silk scarf lends itself best to hand washing to preserve the integrity of the silk – but you can also machine wash it on gentle cycle.

Hand Washing

The best approach is to hand wash silk in 30 degrees C (86F). Fill your sink with lukewarm water and add a little gentle pH neutral liquid detergent. Gently agitate with your hand. Remember that silk is a protein, quite like your hair, so no harsh detergents please. Absolutely no bleach, as this can damage the fibres! Avoid using fabric softener, as it can leave a film on the surface of the silk.

Place the silk pillowcase in the water, agitate it a little and gently move it from side to side to remove dirt. Then let it sit for just a few minutes. Silk releases dirt quickly. Don’t let it soak for a long period because the silk becomes soggy. Rinse it well in fresh water to remove all detergent.

Towel dry your silk scarf.  Never wring out your silk scarf (it can damage the silk). To remove the excess water when washing silk, place your silk scarf on a white towel. Roll up the towel. Gently press on the rolled-up towel to absorb excess moisture. Hang it to air dry or lay it flat. You can dry it on a rail until partially damp. Protect it from direct sunlight.

Iron it on the reverse side at a low/medium heat when it is still partially damp.

Machine Washing

Place your silk scarf inside a pillowcase (to protect it) and into the machine drum. Use a mild detergent and wash at no more than 30 degrees on Gentle cycle.

Never toss silk in the dryer as the heat can damage or shrink the silk. Keep silk out of direct sunlight
